In a feature about local fire halls, the Times Free Press discusses St. Elmo's historic fire hall here. As one of the few craftsman bungalow style fire stations in Chattanooga, ours is the only one listed as being owned by the community.]]>
(1) At 6 pm we will have CARTA representatives coming to meet with anyone interested in providing input into St. Elmo's bus route.
(2) At 7 pm we'll have our normally-scheduled CAHSE meeting. Someone from the Chattanooga Police Department will be coming to talk to us about starting a neighborhood watch program.

Per Scott's request at the monthly meeting last night, here's the new St. Elmo logo. The branding process was part of the Neighborhood Partners' grant from the City of Chattanooga. Thank you to all who contributed toward the 10% match!
We realize that with such varying tastes throughout St. Elmo, it will be difficult to please everyone. However, through a lot of work by a team of professional designers, the final brand and logo reflect the community responses we recieved through a survey several months ago. In addition, we voted on two versions of the design at last month's meeting and the logo displayed here was overwhelmingly the favorite. Overall, we are very pleased with the designers' work.

]]>If you live on a side street and would like more exposure, CAHSE (the community association) will be “renting” plots for $10 over at the playground. We’ll provide the signage. Your donation will go towards CAHSE’s operating expenses.

Our plans are to have several teams tackling projects throughout the neighborhood. Depending on participation, we plan to: work in the yard at the fire hall; rake and trim down at the green space near Ochs and St. Elmo Ave.; pick up large items (couches, tires, lumber, etc.) throughout St. Elmo and take them to the dump; mow the grass over by the railroad overpasses; and send out teams to pick up litter. Of course, the more people that help the more projects we can accomplish.
If you know of any large items that have been dumped, please let us know the general location so we can add them to the list.
At 12:30 we will reconvene at the fire hall for a picnic. Bring your lunch and a blanket. We’ll have at least one grill on hand if you need it, and drinks will be provided. Clumpies ice cream will be served after lunch. Hope to see you on Saturday!
We will be discussing two upcoming events this month: Sparkle St. Elmo (neighborhood and fire hall clean up) with a picnic that evening AND the annual neighborhood garage sale.
